With selectable speeds up to 128 kbps, this line driver provides synchronous data communications over 2- or 4-wire lines and, as part of a multidrop network, can support up to 64 devices.

With its RS-485 line interface, this driver delivers reliable signals, even in the most demanding shop environments-conveyor belts, time clocks, and more.
And the LD485S-MP is just as reliable in tail circuits, too. You get less jitter in Receive clocking, a range of Transmit-clock select options, and delayed RTS/CTS settings.
Front-panel LEDs indicate flow-control status. And three front-panel pushbuttons perform line and digital loopback testing.
