The Black Box LB510A-R2 G.SHDSL provides high-speed 2-wire 2-wire connectivity to ISPs, PTTs, & enterprise environments using Symmetrical High-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line (G.SHDSL) technology.
As a symmetric DSL CPE, DSL offers the same data rates in both directions over a single pair of regular twisted pair lines using TC-PAM modulation. Line connection is made with an RJ-45 jack. Standard versions of LB510A-R2 are powered by an 100/230 VAC (Universal) supply. The CPE features externally-accessible DIP switches, loopback diagnostics & remote-management capabilities via in-band management.
Features:
- Symmetrical high data-rate DSL (G.SHDSL)
- Data rates up to 5.69 Mbps
- 10/100 Ethernet port for management & configuration
- Plug 'n' Play for easy installations
- Interoperable with other Black Box G.SHDSL modems
- Configurable as remote (CP) units
- Configurable as central (CO) units to operate back-to-back
- Front-panel status indicators
- CE marked
Further Details
- Probes voice-grade wiring to determine the optimum data rate supported.
- Supports G.994.2 handshaking, enabling it to adapt the rate automatically to the existing line conditions.
- Features a Telnet port for managing via a console connection.
- Simple to set up and, once configured, operates transparently.
- Transformer-coupled two-wire interface boasts 1500-VAC isolation.
- Works with other extender/NTUs to provide interface conversion along with network termination & extension.
NOTE: Actual distance & link performance may vary depending on the environment & gauge & type of wire you use.
Save on cabling costs! A Black Box 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX G.SHDSL Two-Wire Extender/NTU works as a symmetrical, high-data-rate DSL (G.SHDSL) modem & enables you to use just two wires to extend Ethernet & Fast Ethernet communications at higher speeds in a point-to-point application.
Featuring symmetric, high-speed digital subscriber line technology, the G.991.2 standard device delivers rate-adaptive nx64 speeds as high as 5.7 Mbps.
The extender/NTU works in a pair communicating across dry, two-wire copper cable of any gauge from 19 AWG (0.9 mm) to 26 AWG (0.4 mm). You may even be able to use the telephone wiring already connecting offices or buildings in your application.
Using the DIP switch on the extender/NTU or a Telnet connection, you can set its rate in 64-kbps increments to provide a precise amount of bandwidth to users & to get either greater speed or greater distance. The extender/NTU uses Trellis-Coded Pulse Amplitude Modulation (TCPAM) to enhance its performance & support distances twice as far as conventional TDM technologies.
The G.SHDSL Two-Wire Extender/NTU also includes a probe to determine the optimum data rate supported by the link between local & remote units. In addition, an eRor monitor inspects the line for intervals that exceed its user-set eRor threshold and, if necessary, restarts the link automatically.
For easy troubleshooting, the extender/NTU features front-panel LEDs & other diagnostic tools for detecting eRors on the two-wire connection.
The 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX G.SHDSL Two-Wire Extender/NTU features (4) RJ-45 connectors, autosenses 10- or 100-Mbps network links, autonegotiates for full- or half-duplex operation, & delivers bridged-Ethernet connections to distant users.
You can extend corporate LAN-to-WAN communications at higher speeds or at a longer distance. A built-in Web server enables you to manage the 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX unit through a standard browser connection. It also features PING & traceroute functions, as well as local interface eRor counters for troubleshooting & diagnostic purposes.
