Hoses are an integral part of plumbing, HVAC/R, gas/water supply, and a variety of other systems. Hose connections should remain perfectly sealed and undamaged, as they are more susceptible to failure than any other part of a hose. Dixon Valve 855 is an ultimate tool for creating perfectly solid and reliable hose connections.
Crimps are known as one of the simplest, and yet most reliable hose connection types. Crimping involves deforming a connector or a ferrule around the hose, securing a leakproof link between them. Dixon Valve 855 hose crimper is the right tool for the job. A set of 5 dies allows crimping hoses of various diameters, which further expands the possibilities this tool provides.
To operate Dixon Valve 855, adjust the thumb set screw on the back side of the last die in the tool to adjust for the diameter of the hose, so you do not make the crimp too tight or not tight enough. After inserting a hose with a ferrule into the right die, pull the lever halfway, release, rotate the hose 90 degrees, and pull it down all the way. Afterward, return the hose to its original position, and pull the lever down one more time. This will produce a complete, leak-proof crimping connection. Be sure to select the right die size when installing ferrules.
