Ultrasonic thickness measuring is a very common and effective method of material thickness analysis. Generally, this procedure is utilized in industrial applications, where weld quality or metal structure needs to be assessed. The spheres of applications include industrial, HVAC/R, automotive, and plumbing. The main benefit of this test is that it does not require sample destruction, thus it can be used on a piece of equipment or structure segment without causing any damage to it. This technique provides great accuracy, and is relatively cheap. Dwyer Instruments UTG is an unmatchable champion in this sphere, providing great functionality for an even better price.
Dwyer Instruments UTG is an ultimate solution for local thickness quantifying of any object. Resolution of 0.1 mm and active range of 20 cm allow this device to scan through a variety of objects. It is able to measure thickness of a wide range of metallic and non-metallic objects, and the remote sensor allows measuring in hard-to-reach places. This ultrasonic gage can be used for pipe examination, rust detection, analysis of structure thickness, etc. Sound speeds from 1,118 to 20,132 mph make it possible to adjust to almost any material, making Dwyer Instruments UTG a versatile and desirable tool for any professional.
