Ideal 89-612 barrier strip is now an integral element of electrical wiring. It is a set with recessed screws and tubular contacts embedded in a housing (UL flammability rating – 94V-2) made of a strong dielectric material. Metal contacts are made in the form of tubes inserted into the dielectric housing. On both top sides of each tube there are threaded holes with fastening screws (with the torque rating of 7.0 in-lbs).
This utility provides a secure contact of the following wires or cables:
- stripped;
- unterminated;
- solid;
- stranded.
Unlike the usual installation method – twisting and wrapping the wires with insulating tape – usage of this tool provides not only a convenient and reliable connection, but also the convenience of installing with the possibility of subsequent repair and unstringing. Another advantageous feature is that this product has holes on the housing that are intended for fastening to the supporting structure.
Since electrical wiring is an extremely important element during construction, wires, that are safely placed in a junction box (rather than a bundle with tape) are vital for proper functioning and prevention of flaws or damages.
Twisting of wires remains in the past!
