An attached suction pipe can't be separated from the float switch, so the level alarm is always on duty. The rigid suction pipe ensure that your pump is always drawing liquid from below the alarm point. At the same time, adjusting the depth to the bottom of a drum makes sure the maximum all the chemical is extracted from your drums and the float switch leaves only a couple of millimeters of residue.
