Ideal R158003 is a versatile device. It comprises a set of features that make this tester truly unique among other cable testers. This cable tester contains a phone connector, an ethernet connector, and an F-connector for coaxial video cable. This unique testing device has three respective testing modes, applicable to peculiar types of cables. It also recognizes the wire pairs within any type of cabling, and by comparing them to a standard layout, you can determine if a cabling system has undergone any damages or assembled imperfectly. Time domain reflectometry technique, utilized by this device, allows determining the complete length of any cable on top of singling out wire pairs. The shorter length of a pair indicates that it is open, while special icon will determine if the line has been shorted. The length comparison will aid in determining approximate defect location.
