Bahco

Göran Fredrik Göransson founded Högbo Stål and Jernwerks AB in Sweden in 1862 to produce the highest quality steel, pioneering the Bessemer process and unknowingly laying the groundwork for the company’s first saw blade.

1886 - Göran used the high-quality steel, previously molded to make fish hooks, to begin the production of Bahco first saw blades. To communicate their quality, every blade carried the Fish and Hook trademark.

In 1916 Berndt August Hjorth bought Enköpings Mekaniska Verkstad from Johan Petter Johansson and shortened the name of the company to his initials. Since then, Högbo Stål and Jernwerks AB is known as Bahco.

Fifty years later the introduction of the bi-metal hacksaw blade Sandflex® heralded a new era in metal-cutting blade technology.

In 1982 Bahco presented the world's first ergonomic screwdriver.

Still, Bahco’s ERGO™ produces high-quality award-winning tools.

Nowadays SNA Europe (the company behind Bahco) designs and manufactures tools and saws, tailored to the most demanding professionals. The design is focused on innovation, performance, and ergonomics. Bahco products are overwhelmingly manufactured in SNA factories across Europe and offered by the partner distributors to the professionals.
